Crabtree & Evelyn's Iris Eau de Toilette

Perfume makers as far back as the Renaissance knew the unique allure of the iris flower to create sensual scents worthy of the royals and the privileged class.  Bringing that magic back in their own iris inspired fragrance, Crabtree & Evelyn's version that launched 2010 is a soft and precious woody-floral that would be worth its weight in gold or rare spices if sold back then.

This gorgeous FiFi Fragrance Awards 2011 nominee opens with a stimulating freshness from citrus notes of Italian bergamot to the almost tangy dark berry ones of cassis for a delightfully sparkling start.

Slowly taunting in the background is that erotic orris root, which warms luxuriously to give it such a mesmerizing  hold with its powdery floral beauty once it comes into its own in the heart.

As it continues to weave its unforgettable spell in the dry down, this very feminine fragrance is truly irresistible and becomes even more seductive once those wooden aromas with patchouli, sultry sandalwood, vetiver and cedar, heating with creamy musk, finally surface.

If you are looking for a very ladylike, but extremely sexy perfume that doesn't shout and instead exquisitely whispers for attention, then this is the perfect choice for you. The 1-fl. oz. Iris Eau de Toilette Spray is $25 and the 3.4 fl. oz. is $45.  Other equally enticing forms and beautiful options of this fragrance are also available.

I simply am crazy about Crabtree & Evelyn's Iris Eau de Toilette and honestly recommend it for that special woman on your holiday gift shopping list because it can ignite desire!
