Garden Botanika Twinkle Toes Sweet Mint Winter Gift Collection

Our feet take a lot of abuse every day.  Just to look fashionable, we can wedge them into ill-fitting shoes, often torturing them or walk barefoot without thought as to the damage we do to our skin. The only way they fight back is with dry, rough heels, corns, and blisters.  I happen to think our hard-working feet deserve a little tender loving care to reward them for all that we put them through and Garden Botanika's Twinkle Toes Sweet Mint Winter Collection of foot care products is a great way to do it.

The first product I started applying was the Sweet Mint Foot Polish to clean, but still damp feet.  This is a gentle exfoliating cream with finely ground walnut shells for smoothing rough skin as well as ingredients like peppermint leaf extract and vanilla for a refreshing, cool feeling and scent.

I followed with the Sweet Mint Foot Spray to energize my tired feet up.  With peppermint and tea tree oil, this spray helped perk and  deodorize.

I finished my foot ritual with the Sweet Mint AHA Foot Treatment and then put on the Moisture Socks before bedtime.  This cream is rich in moisture from Shea and Cacao Seed butters besides fruits acids for additional exfoliation.

These products did treat my feet to some wonderful pampering and softer skin.  Anyone would notice a nice difference in their feet using this kit so do think of getting one for yourself or as holiday gifts.

This kit consists of Sweet Mint AHA Foot Treatment (4 oz.), Sweet Mint Foot Polish (4 oz.), Sweet Mint Foot Spray (4 oz.), and a pair of Moisture Socks.  Bought separately, you would pay $41 for all this.  With the holidays nearly here, Garden Botanika's Twinkle Toes Sweet Mint Winter Gift Collection is now specially priced at $29.50!

Review: Advanced Mineral Makeup Loose Powder Foundation (Taylor) --Ultra Breathable Foundation Coverage

Disclaimer:  This post is based on a free product provided by a company as a press sample so that I may offer my own  opinion, which may be the same or differ from yours.
Advanced Mineral Makeup Loose Powder Foundation.jpeg
Advanced Mineral Makeup Loose Powder Foundation (Taylor)

I am so drawn to mineral foundations because they are healthier bets for your skin, especially for anyone with allergy problems or prone to acne.  Many traditional foundations have talc and harsher ingredients in the binders and preservatives that can lead to sensitivity issues or breakouts.  Less risky are the natural mineral foundations since they do not have any talc, dyes, perfumes, parabens, or preservatives associated with likely reactions.

Recently, I tried Advanced Mineral Makeup from highly acclaimed TV and film makeup artist, Annie Mayo, and was more than impressed with the gentle formula and flawless coverage of her Pressed Powder Foundation that I looked forward to reviewing her Loose Powder Foundation in the same shade of Taylor, the lightest of the three color choices.

Advanced Mineral Makeup Loose Powder Foundation side view.jpeg
Advanced Mineral Makeup Loose Powder Foundation (Taylor) is a silky consistency

Using mineral foundation simplifies your beauty routine because with a quick swipe or two of your brush, depending on the coverage you need from light to medium, you can apply.  Though the easiest way, instead I dip a cotton ball into the foundation and dab the powder on, pressing it in and then brushing away the excess.  Applying the foundation this way gives longer lasting coverage and prolonged that gorgeous almost airbrush looking finish I discovered from its vitamin-enriched formula.   Try this technique with any loose powder deepens the coverage and keeps shine away so much longer.

Here is bottom label with ingredients of Advanced Mineral Makeup Loose Powder Foundation

I really like the Advanced Mineral Makeup Powder Foundations of either form now that I had the chance to wear them because they don't fade or seem to settle into wrinkles like some foundations can after a period of time.  Another thing that is dear to my heart is how ultra- breathable their mineral foundations are for your skin.

As to my favorite form, I do prefer the pressed form for when I am especially short of time, need less coverage, or for taking with me in my handbag.  When I want more coverage, I do migrate toward the loose form.

If you haven't tried Advanced Mineral Makeup Loose Powder Foundation, I can tell you now that you will be glad you found their website once you see what it can do for your face.  Either form retails for $38.50 at Advanced Mineral Makeup.   Like I said, I do love the Pressed Powder Foundation as well, only in different ways.

Are You Curious How to Safely Clean Your Flat Iron?

Maybe you're like me and confused how to properly clean that delicate surface of a hair styling tool like a flat iron without causing damage.  After all, the only recommended way to care for it has been water.

Nonetheless, over time you may notice styling product starting to build up. Instead of simply wiping the warm plates off with cold water while it's unplugged, there is a better way to clean your iron without risking harm to that expensive tool.

Try cleaning it with a mixture of cold water and rubbing alcohol once a week will do the trick. Towel it off the same way when it’s unplugged and the plates are still warm, only using this mixture in place of the plain water.

Be Kind to Delicate Skin--MyChelle Dermaceuticals Pure Harmony Collection for Sensitive Skin (Review)

Disclaimer:  This post is based on free products provided by a company as a press sample so that I may offer my own  opinion, which may be the same or differ from yours.
-MyChelle Dermaceuticals Pure Harmony Skin Care.jpeg
MyChelle Pure Harmony Collection

My skin can be sensitive at times.  Sometimes, I can use a product for a period of time without any problem and then the next time I use it, it can cause my skin to react.  This is the frustrating way of how allergies work if you're prone to them like I am.  When I had the opportunity to try MyChelle Dermaceuticals Pure Harmony Collection to deal with a delicate skin issue, I knew I was the perfect candidate.

The system consists of five products:  Cleanser, Mask, Serum, Mist, and Cream.

Pure Harmony Cleanser was how I began the regimen.  This is a very soothing gel/cream with sea buckthorn, AquaCacteen, and green tea among the ingredients that rinses away with water.  It doesn't foam up like some cleansers that rinse off, but this creamy emulsion took the grime away without robbing my irritated complexion any further.  Instead, it bathed my skin with needed moisture and left it calmer and softer in the process.

The next step was to try the Pure Harmony Mask that also was included in my box.  Once a week as recommended, I applied this product.  It contains arnica for healing and pain relief, magnolias for antioxidant power and UV defense, and bisabolo from chamomile to soothe, repair, and protect stressed skin.   This task of calming my skin further was what it did nicely.

Third in line was the Pure Harmony Serum.  This is a brownish serum with niacinamide that helps trigger collagen and reduce hyperpigmentation, kinetin for hydrating, and licorice for irritation relief.  Used immediately after cleansing, my face felt slightly tight until I reached for the next step.

The fourth product was the Pure Harmony Mist, which rains a blanket of moisturizing comfort to any face in need.   This is an awesome product with Longevicell, a cell regenerator and blue lotus as well as other beneficial ingredients to rescue skin.

In my particular case, I gained better results when I reversed the steps the next day and used the mist after cleansing, then following with the serum.  The slight change agreed with my skin so much more.

Last of all was the Pure Harmony Cream to feed hungry, irritated skin with a healthy diet of Renovage, gardenia plant stem cells and Asiatioside. Together the ingredients firm, tone, and boost moisture.  This luxurious substance disappeared into my skin leaving only a velvety coat of comforting aid behind without excess greasiness or stickiness.

If you also are on the sensitive side, I suggest a visit to MyChelle Dermaceuticals and check out the Pure Harmony Collection.  The Cleanser retails for $12.25, the Mask sells for $29.75, the Serum is priced at  $45.50, the Mist retails for $16.00, and the Cream sells for $28.00.

Are You Risking That Dazzling Smile by Brushing at the Wrong Time?

You know the drill if you want to preserve those pearly whites and keep that dazzling smile.  Brush your teeth after every meal or at least twice a day and remember to floss.  However, did you also know that you may be risking damage to your teeth's enamel if you brush too soon, especially after eating acidic foods like citrus, tomatoes, soda, and wine?

Anything acidic can soften the surface of your teeth, eroding the enamel all the way to the inner dentin layer.   If you brush immediately after eating such foods, you will be grinding toothpaste, a corrosive substance, against your weakened teeth.  Compounding the problem is the bristles of your brush wearing down that vulnerable enamel as well.

Still, worse damage can be had from vigorous brushing to further the severity.  Consider buying a toothbrush with soft bristles over hard ones is a good preventive measure.

Yet, there is a solution to this frightening scenario.  The best course of action is to simply wait at least thirty minutes up to an hour before brushing to give your saliva enough time to neutralize the acidity.  The saliva is what helps harden the teeth back to normal.

If you can't stand a dirty mouth, rinse your mouth out after directly eating with plain water or eat a small piece of cheese is a good way to help prolong the wait.  You also try freshening up with chewing a piece of sugar-free gum.

Why Not Treat the Family and Local Goblins to My Special Pumpkin Bars This Halloween?

Halloween is a great time to make a batch of these scrumptious pumpkin bars to treat family, friends, and perhaps, even local goblins.  More cake-like in texture than cookies, these bars are later topped with a simple, but sinful cream cheese icing to further compliment them.

From the moment, these bars hit the oven and those fragrant spices are released, you will be counting the clock until they finish.  Be very afraid.

The scary part is once they come out of your oven.  You will suddenly need to taste one.  Though you know it is wrong because they are still hot and lack that luscious layer of creamy icing, this evil recipe can cause any unsuspecting baker to lose willpower.

Therefore, I urge you to prepare for the worst if you find yourself lured into this trap.  Make at least two batches of this recipe and save yourself from falling short of these irresistible treats!

With all kidding aside, I hope you get a chance to this recipe because it is yummy!

My Special Pumpkin Bars

4 large eggs
1-1/2 cups sugar
2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon of ground allspice
1/8 teaspoon of ground cloves
1/4 cup of molasses (dark or light)
1 cup of canola oil
1 can (16-oz. size) of pumpkin or 2 cups
2 cups of flour
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1 teaspoon of baking soda, leveled
2 teaspoons of baking powder, leveled

Cream Cheese Icing

1 small (3-oz.) package of cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup (1 stick) of a margarine (not spread), softened
1-1/2 teaspoons of vanilla
2 cups of sifted confectioners' sugar

To Prepare Bars:

Cream the eggs, sugar, oil, pumpkin, and molasses together thoroughly with your electric mixer in your mixing bowl.

Then sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, allspice, cloves, and salt.

Add the sifted ingredients to the creamed ingredients and combine well.

Spread the batter in an ungreased 15 x 10 x 1-inch size baking pan.

Bake in a 350-degree oven for about 25 to 30 minutes, depending on how your oven temperature is regulated.

Test with a tooth pick or slender knife to see if anything sticks.

Cool and before icing.

To Prepare Icing:

Cream the softened margarine with the cream cheese, vanilla, and beat in the confectioners' sugar gradually until using all of it and the ingredients are smooth and creamy.

ENJOY!

Pretty in Pink is on the left and Cherry Flush is on the right.

I am an IT Cosmetics girl through and through.  In fact, I love this company so much to make me wonder why I just don't work there with my genuine enthusiasm for their amazing innovative cosmetics! Take their incredible line of YLBB Your Lips But Better Waterproof Lip Liner Stains because these exceed the bar when it comes to performance.

Unlike typical lip liners that help you perfect the shape of your mouth and keep your lip color intact, the YLBB Lip Liner Stains can double as long-wearing lip color that you can count on as well.  You can eat, drink, and still have beautiful lips for as long as you need without any problems.  This product held up so well that I needed to use my oil-based cleanser to finally take this lip liner stain off.
On the left is Romantic Rose with Perfect Red on the right.

The only thing that I added afterwards was some clear gloss over top another time to slick up the moisture and shine a bit more.  Jamie Kern and her team of beauty geniuses really outdid themselves this time with this multi-tasking lip liner stain that also improves the condition of your lips in the process with their anti-aging ingredients such as collagen, peptides, hyaluronic acid, shea butter, argan, jojoba and avocado oils.

Check out these stunning nudes!  Starting on the left is Buff Nude, Spicy Nude, and ending with Blushing Nude on the right.

I swatched all seven shades of this line so you could see the gorgeous range of colors at your disposal.  From pinks, browns, plums, to reds, you will find it.  Each YLBB Your Lips But Better Waterproof Lip Liner Stain retails for $24.  I strongly encourage you to try this product and put it to the test as I did because only then will you truly appreciate just how exceptional this lip liner stain is.

Going from the wide part of my arm on the left is Cherry Flush, then Pretty in Pink, Perfect Red, Romantic Rose, Blushing Nude, Spicy Nude, and ending with Buff Nude nearest my wrist on the right.

Advanced Mineral Makeup Perfecting Concealer Review

Disclaimer:  This post is based on a free product provided by a company as a press sample so that I may offer my own  opinion, which may be the same or differ from yours.
Advanced Mineral Makeup concealer.jpeg
Advanced Mineral Makeup Perfecting Concealer

I would be lost without concealer and coverage that I can count on.  Anyone with allergies knows how difficult it is to hide those dark under eye circles.  Some are more lucky than others and only have to deal with those raccoon-like rings on a seasonal basis.  Sadly enough, I was born cursed with year round allergies and waking each day to scare myself in the mirror due to allergic shiners.  Therefore, I couldn't wait to try the Advanced Mineral Makeup Perfecting Concealer created by highly acclaimed TV and Film Makeup Artist, Annie Mayo, that I received to test.

This concealer comes in a tube with a sponge-tipped wand and has no harsh chemicals, no preservatives and no parabens.  Already the formula appealed to me except for the lack of preservatives, but when I read it also had anti-aging power and pampered the eye area with such ingredients as vitamin E, hyaluronic acid, grapeseed oil, and shea butter, I knew it had to be promising.  However, I couldn't make any honest judgment until I applied the product.
Advanced Mineral Makeup concealer out of tube.jpeg
Here is what Beige Cream looks like in color.

Being light-skinned, I selected the fairest shade, Beige Cream, of the three colors in the line.  The consistency of this concealer was nice to blend as I worked a bit in.  A little of this full coverage concealer was all that I needed to mask my problem.  What I also liked was how the under eye area looked somewhat brightened in the process.

Still, I couldn't make a fair assessment of its performance until I wore it through a day.  Sometimes, concealers can disappear on you or settle into fine lines after a while.  The Advanced Mineral Makeup Perfecting Concealer didn't have me scrambling  to touch-up after a few hours, which is important.

According to the company, you can also use this concealer on acne and rosacea.

I thought it was a wonderful product.  My only concern is how long this concealer can keep without preservatives.  Other than that, I loved it.

Do try Advanced Mineral Makeup Perfecting Concealer.  It retails for $24 at Advanced Mineral Makeup.  I think you will also love it.

Mally Beauty's Liquid Face Defender Makes for A Gorgeous Finish (Review)

Disclaimer:  This post is based on a free product provided by a company as a press sample so that I may offer my own  opinion, which may be the same or differ from yours.
Mally Beauty Liquid Face Defender.jpeg
Mally Beauty's Liquid Face Defender

A perfect way to finish your makeup is with a Mally Beauty Clear Poreless Face Defender to keep your fresh looking fresh.  Earlier, I reviewed the solid form that gets dabbed on with the sponge and thought it was extraordinary for performance.  This product kept the shine away for hours and made my skin flawless.  When I found a Clear Poreless Liquid Face Defender among some products sent to me to review, I was curious how this form would compare.

This primer-corrector/finisher is also colorless and silicone-based, only in liquid form.  You can use this product after moisturizing under your makeup just as you also can do with the solid or over your makeup as I still prefer.

After I squeezed a little bit out, I applied quickly with my fingers before this stuff could set.  Gently tapping the product in, I worked down my face until I was satisfied that I didn't miss anything.

This product does make your complexion so much smoother and more flawless than just a typical translucent powder.  It also does a nice job of keeping the shine away just like the solid form, but it is slightly messier to use in this form and takes more time to apply.  Despite being a nice product, I just think the compact form with a sponge is easier than playing with your fingers, more convenient, and the winner of two in my opinion.

Read my review of the Clear Poreless Face Defender for the entire scoop. However, this is my personal preference.  Do check these Mally Beauty products out because they can be invaluable for a prettier, fresher finish.

A one-oz. tube of Mally Beauty Clear Poreless Liquid Face Defender retails for $40.

A Calming, Fresh Fragrance to Brighten Your Day--L'Occitane en Provence's Verbena Eau de Toilette (Review)

L'Occitane en Provence's Verbena Eau de Toilette.jpeg
L'Occitane's Verbena Eau de Toilette

Light and fresh with a little citrus, green, and floral,  L'Occitane en Provence's Verbena Eau de Toilette, is the perfect middle ground between fresh and floral in this beautiful, soothing fragrance.  Whether you're looking for a clean type of almost a unisex scent or something not to overpower co-workers, this floral-citrus eau de toilette will wonderfully fit the bill.

The opening is both brisk and bright with notes of lemon and orange.  Though a bit tart and invigorating, the fragrance is pleasantly refreshing. Soon, however, the middle notes of the heart kick in with the influx of lemon verbena and petit grain adding more green and woods, giving the mix more depth and interesting contrast as it warms.  As the fragrance dries down, the rose and geranium notes create a floral softness to the combination that is so inviting.

Some would consider Verbena more appropriate for wearing in the summer.  Since this lovely fragrance is so wonderfully uplifting to brighten a day without overpowering, my feeling is this scent can be worn in all seasons.

I just love the way this fragrance can make even a bad day seem better with its zingy aroma and mood changing, calming freshness.

The 3.4 oz. Verbena Eau de Toilette Spray retails for $52.  Do visit L'Occitane and look into that fragrance as well as the other Verbena products in this collection.  Take it from Mary B.  You will like Verbena!

Know Your Facts About Natural and Certified Organic Skin Care Seals

Sorting through green skin care can be confusing. After all, there are brands sporting the USDA Organic Seal, others have a Natural Product Association (NPA) seal, and then there is the Ecocert seal.   However, if you understand the lingo, then you can be better informed as to what to expect before you plop down your money.
The USDA Organic seal on a product guarantees it was formulated with 95-percent of organic ingredients and grown without artificial chemicals.
On the other hand, the Natural Product Association seal vouches that 95-percent of the ingredients are natural or naturally derived with some additives that have no possibly of risking your health.
An Ecocert seal is another excellent one to look for.  This seal means that the product is 95-percent organic in its ingredient composition according to the strict standards set by the USDA and the France-based organic certification organization, Ecocert, regulating more than 80 countries overseas.
Be sure to take the time for read those labels carefully.  Doing so can make all the difference to your beauty and health!

My Lazy One Dish Dinner Casserole Is Easy and Delicious!

I am a big fan of casseroles. What can easier than sticking ingredients together before placing the dinner in the oven? These types of dishes really come in handy when you have a lot to do since you don't have to worry about them. This tasty casserole that I want to share is a hearty and satisfying dish with meat and potatoes that will please the entire family.

Do try this recipe sometime when you want a delicious change from what you usually serve. Once you sample my casserole, I bet you will make it again!

My Lazy One Dish Dinner Casserole

1 lb. of ground turkey or ground beef

What I love about IT Cosmetics is how this company can bring out the potential beauty in all women with their innovative anti-aging line.  Leave it to Jamie Kern once again to know even the best cosmetics can't do it all without the right tools to pull it off like this Heavenly Luxe 6-Piece Brush Collection With Travel Case.

So why am I so hyped up about this particular set?  Well, it's simple once I examined this incredible set that I received for this review.

You get six ultra-plush brushes (a flat foundation brush, one for multi-powders, a flat concealer brush, a crease brush, eye shadow brush, and the eyeliner and brow brush with spooly).  These are the same quality of Heavenly Luxe and No-Tug brushes only in travel size!   IT Cosmetics didn't skimp on the hair count or the luxurious feel of the bristles either in case you were wondering.  And yet, I haven't even gotten to the faux leather travel case that these six great tools are housed in.

This travel case measures approximately 7-1/2 x  3-1/2-inches when closed to give you an idea of the size.  After you open that magnetic closure, double the length with three brushes on each side.  You pack this case in your handbag, suitcase, or leave on your vanity.  In fact, you can lay it flat or stand it up on your vanity just by flipping it around.

Check these great brushes out.

All your makeup needs are ready for you in one handy case.
Take it from this IT girl, I highly recommend buying the Heavenly Luxe 6-Piece Brush Collection With Travel Case because if you're going to buy one set of new brushes this year, you are going to want to get this while it's available at QVC.  One good brush usually costs more than that--and you're getting six plus a storage case for $39.50!

This set is even ready for holiday gift giving in its silver box adorned with ribbon and bow.

Those Dry Feet of Yours Will Love My Yummy Homemade Foot Softening Butter!

Today, I have a wonderful homemade skin care recipe that you can make in practically no time to soften your feet.  This simple beauty concoction has a delicious smell and works magic on dry, tough skin.

Be warned, however, there is one pitfall to working with this recipe.  The more you smell that yummy aroma, the hungrier you may get for sweets!

Now that I cleared my conscience, I hope you try this recipe out and treat those feet.

What I like to do is slather a generous amount of this foot butter on my freshly washed feet at night and then encase them in a pair of white cotton socks for maximum benefits.  By morning, you will notice a beautiful improvement in the condition of the treated skin.

My Yummy Homemade Foot Softening Butter

2 teaspoons of sweet almond oil
3 teaspoons of Crisco Vegetable Shortening
4 teaspoons of Cocoa Butter
2 teaspoons  of Vitamin E oil

Combine all the ingredients and mix thoroughly.

Store in a clean container because this will be enough for at least two or three times, depending on how thick of the application used.

Trust me, you are going to love the results!

Find Your New Perfect Hair Dryer--Karmin G3 Salon Pro Hair Dryer (Review)

**Disclaimer:  This post has been compensated through a free product (s) or monetary payment.  Opinions are solely mine. All links are "no-follow" links.**
One detachable nozzle attachment is included with this dryer.

Having an extremely thick head of hair, I need a very hot and powerful hair dryer to take care of it.  Otherwise, drying my locks can take forever, which is unacceptable, especially when time is of the essence.  Besides speed, I want a high-quality professional dryer that is fairly light to hold, turns on the shine while making the hair soft and manageable.  If it happens to come with a diffuser and a great warranty of three years like the Karmin G3 Salon Pro Hair Dryer that I was sent to review, then I am even happier.

As you can guess, I was thrilled when this dryer arrived since it had all the specifications that are important to me.  The Karmin G3 is a pistol-shaped dryer that has three temperature settings, two speeds, a cool shot button, and a separate diffuser attachment. A carrying case is even included, which is wonderful for storage or travel.

It also comes equipped with two thousand watts of power with moist ceramic heat from pure ceramic coils for even heat distribution in its long-life AC motor.  This means faster drying, more protection from damage and frizz, and lots more riveting shine as it seals the cuticle, repelling humidity and locking in color.

Karmin G3 Salon Pro Hair Dryer side view.jpeg
Karmin G3 Salon Pro Hair Dryer

Some hair dryers can feel too heavy or awkward to use.  However, this dryer was fine to handle without tiring my delicate wrist before I finished.

I used this dryer as it came with the nozzle the first time and worked my ceramic brushes for a straighter style.  When my hair was still damp-dry, I turned on that blue cool shot button to finish styling.  I loved how it increased softness and the resulting beautiful gloss.

Since I have a lot of curls and layers cut in my hair, I couldn't wait to try the diffuser the following day.  This is not a wimpy attachment, but a larger size one that in the old days you would have needed to buy separately.  Using this professional diffuser brought out so many amazing curls that it looked like I curled it instead of blowing it.

In my opinion, the Karmin G3 Salon Pro Hair Dryer is indispensable for fantastic drying time and styling results.  Though I haven't had it for long, it appears to be a sturdy hair dryer that you can change your look with from smooth to curly styles.

Usually, this dryer retails for $189.95 but you buy it now for $159.95!  You can also connect with Karmin on Facebook.

Personally, I love my new hair dryer and highly recommend getting one for yourself.  When the Karmin G3 Salon Pro Hair Dryer does all those things what is there not to love about it?

You'll Love Mineral Fusion Natural Brands Line of Loose Powder Foundations! (Review)

Mineral Fusion

I can tell you about quite a few companies making excellent loose and pressed powder foundations with beautiful coverage.  Some of those brands, however, have something you may not want like an extensive list of chemical ingredients.  Nonetheless, you have another option without toxic ingredients like Mineral Fusion Natural Brands and their Loose Powder Foundations.

You don't have to worry about parabens, talc, artificial colors, fragrance, or gluten in their formulas.  These lightweight powders adhere to your skin like a silky veil with only natural age defying and skin smoothing ingredients such as pomegranate, white tea, red tea, sea kelp, licorice root, aloe vera, cucumber, and vitamins C and E.   They also have natural UV sun protection in this mineral formula, which is another plus.

I received the line of five different shades of this foundation.

From left to right is Warm 1, Warm 2, Olive 1, Cool 2, and Neutral 2 in the photo.

My best match for my light skin with yellow undertones was Olive 1.  This stuff really helps make your pores almost disappear once I applied.

Here is a photo of my ideal shade, Olive 1.

For those with allergies that are sensitive to flying powder, I have a tip to cut down on that problem.  Use a cotton ball and press the powder in first before holding your breath and brushing away the excess.

Using this Loose Powder Foundation, my face became flawless and the little imperfections were hidden without any mask of heavy makeup for a more natural appearance that lasted for hours.

Earlier, I reviewed the Pressed Powder Foundations and was impressed how exceptional the product was.   The Loose Powder Foundations are just as amazing for delivering outstanding results.  In fact, I am torn between which form I prefer!

Honestly, you should try both of these products and you will thank me when you look at your face.  Either form retails for $29.99.  Find them at Mineral Fusion Natural Brands or Whole Foods.

A Fragrance That Will Have You Ruling His Heart--Katy Perry's NEW Killer Queen Eau de Parfum Spray Review and ($59) Giveaway!--Ends October 31, 2013

Killer Queen Perfume Spray.jpeg
Katy Perry's Killer Queen Eau de Parfum Spray

Superstar singer, Katy Perry, recently launched a third perfume in conjunction with Coty.  Just as exciting and unpredictable as the stunning songstress in the flesh, Killer Queen, created with the perfumer, Laurent Le Guernec, is a dynamic fruity-floral gourmand with a wild spirit that fires up, captivating you in its delicious warmth and burning with more of a mature seductive appeal than her previous fragrances.

The top fruity notes are playful and bright.  You can sense the energy immediately with juicy bergamot accords until teasing begins once the notes of wild berries and dark plum emerge adding richness to this sweet fragrance.

With romantic heart notes of velvety red flowers (Celosia), jasmine and Plumeria, Killer Queen becomes creamier as it warms  The floral notes sprinkle a powdery softness over the lush fruits that is beautiful with its delicate cover, waiting for the proper time to make an entrance.

The base notes of cashmere, patchouli, and liquid praline lend an enticing sophistication to this composition as they begin to seduce.  You feel the fanning flames as the fragrance begins to dry down, drawing you helplessly to that burning heat as it rages until you are made its prisoner and consumed with desire.

Don't think that Killer Queen is another celebrity fragrance with nothing special to offer or even vaguely close to Katy Perry's other two fruity-floral perfumes.  That assumption would be a mistake.  This complicated fragrance is seductive and an intriguing scent with class and style that will surprise you as much as it will delight you.

I loved the warmth and spicy aspects of Killer Queen, which is even more enjoyable to wear especially now with colder weather.  The only thing I find wrong about this perfume revolves around the red-ruby shaped bottle with its own golden pedestal.  You won't be able to stand this bottle upright.

The 100 ml of Killer Queen Eau de Parfum Spray retails for $59.  It also comes in the 15 ml, 30 ml, or 50 ml.  Do check this one out!

Learn How to Burn More Fat and Speed Up Your Workout Results!

What can feel more exciting than stepping on your bathroom scale and seeing those numbers drop when you are determined to lose weight?  Despite being overjoyed that your new dieting efforts are paying off, you still might not be satisfied when you stand naked in front of a full-length mirror.  Nonetheless, you are intent on reshaping your body and ready to begin an exercise program.

Before you begin your workout, there is a way to speed up your body's fat burning ability and get better results from your exercise. Therefore, you need to fuel your body right first before you start.

Two hours before you hit the gym or do whatever exercise routine you have in mind, you should avoid eating high-glycemic foods like potatoes, white rice, pasta, white breads, and wheat cereals, etc. because they will increase your insulin levels and impede your workout progress.  After all, insulin is what controls how your body burns fat.   Instead, you should eat a low-glycemic, fructose-free meal two hours earlier for more bang from that routine.

You might want to try such low-glycemic foods such as whole grain cereals and bread, lean proteins, nuts, and beans.   Change out that instant oatmeal for old-fashioned cooked oats or quick oats and steer more toward fewer processed cereals or ones that contain about four grams of fiber and barley or bran when it comes to breakfast.  These are just some foods to consider, but a good place to start.

This little adjustment to your dieting plan will help you get firmer to sculpt your body the way you like it.

Get a Comfortable Night's Sleep--Mediflow Elite Waterbase Pillow (Review)

Disclaimer:  This post is based on a free product provided by a company as a press sample so that I may offer my own  opinion, which may be the same or differ from yours.
Mediflow Elite Waterbase Pillow.jpeg
Mediflow Elite Waterbase Pillow

A good night of sleep is a beautiful thing.  Unfortunately, it is not always easy for some people.  I know that I have tried many different pillows in hopes of finding a comfortable fit.  Before my new pillow arrived, I used a memory foam one.  This was hardly perfect but the best one for cradling my neck, which sometimes can keep me up if I can't find the perfect position.  Since a published clinical study at John Hopkins School of Medicine found the Mediflow Elite Waterbase pillow effective to improve the quality of sleep, I needed to see what sort of rest I would experience with my neck.

The Mediflow Elite is a water pillow surrounded by lots of hypoallergenic polyester fiber filling.  At first glance, it looks like an ordinary pillow until turned over and you see the plug. By filling the water pouch, you adjust for softness or firmness by pouring out or adding water to your satisfaction.  After you find the right water level for you and lock it back up, you just slip on your pillow case and get ready to sleep.

Here's the back of the Mediflow Elite Waterbase Pillow.

I had assumed there might be sounds of water swishing back and forth once I got into bed.  Surprisingly, no bothersome sounds got in the way once I put my head down after maneuvering to find my sweet spot.

I thought I got just enough firmness to support my neck properly.  When pillows are too firm or overly soft, I toss and turn.  With the Mediflow pillow, I could relax.  The pillow contoured to my neck and head.  You might say my neck felt at home there.

In fact, I fell asleep sooner than I normally do.  When I awoke, I did feel more rested than I I had in quite some time.

Discovering this pillow was a wonderful experience and I will keep it exactly where it is on my bed.  I don't know how it will hold up in time because this has only been one week of use, but I really think it does help keep your neck more comfortable for a better night of sleep.

The Mediflow Elite Waterbased pillow is sold exclusively at Bed, Bath, & Beyond and Bed, Bath, & Beyond.com.  It retails for $39.99.

If you have trouble sleeping for one reason or another, I do recommend trying a Mediflow Elite pillow and see if you wake up happier than you have in a while.
