L’Occitane en Provence’s NEW Divine Youth Oil and Immortelle Precious Cream Review

Divine Youth Oil.jpeg
Divine Youth Oil

You may think an oil would hardly make a great moisturizer, especially if you have an oily complexion.  However, I want to clear up that myth because with the right oil such as what I experienced using L’Occitane en Provence’s recently launched Divine Youth Oil, then you will change your mind.

Instead of being a heavy, greasy substance that just sits on top of your face, this new addition to their Immortelle line is quick to absorb, giving the complexion a light, velvety coat of hydration due to 100% natural plant-based oils.  The star ingredient is the flower, Immortelle, which plays a crucial role in age-defying.

All I needed was three drops of this gentle oil to do my entire face and neck before my dry, sensitive skin felt revived.

I did follow with the Immortelle Precious Cream that I also received, which was the perfect compliment for boosting its effects.  This is a luxurious, rich cream that melts in your skin that also has Ruscus and holly extracts in the formula.

Immortelle Precious Cream.jpeg
Immortelle Precious Cream

I was impressed at the luminosity that I soon witnessed in the relatively short time that I had started using these two products.  My skin looks like it is lit from within from the glow that I am seeing.

It’s too soon to notice how well it improved fine lines and creases, but I love what it is doing now and can only wait to see what other skin improvements that time will bring.

Haven’t you lived with your old skin long enough?  I do recommend checking both of these products out at L’Occitane en Provence.  The Divine Youth Oil is $96 and the Immortelle Precious Cream is $62.  Trust me, but a bright future awaits once you do!

Review: Pur Minerals Correcting Primer Dark Spot Corrector

**Disclaimer:  This post has been compensated through a free product (s) or monetary payment.  Opinions are solely mine. All links are "no-follow" links.**
Pur Minerals Correcting Primer Dark Spot Corrector.jpeg
Pur Minerals Correcting Primer Dark Spot Corrector

Priming first before you put on your foundation can do more for your complexion than you may realize.  Incorporating this product into your beauty routine may require an extra step, but it can minimize your pores and even out your skin tone to create a practically flawless complexion.

Pur Minerals Correcting Primer Dark Spot Corrector that I got to try is a bit different.  If you happen to have some complexion problem that you need extra help with like blotchy skin, freckles, or some darkness under your eyes, age spots, or a discolored mark left behind from a pimple, this is the primer that just may be the one to help you out.

This is a peachy color meant for all skin tones that looks darker until you apply your foundation.  It does lighten and seemed to brighten as well as perfect the complexion in the process.   I thought my dark circles also benefitted because I used less concealer.  Be careful though about getting this primer to close to your eyes.  According to Pur Minerals Questions & Answers section under the product, this primer should not be used on your eyelids so keep that in mind.

I really liked primer for that bit of extra help it gave me.  Have you tried Pur Minerals Correcting Primer Dark Spot Corrector ($31) yet?  Check it out.

Why I LOVE Corel WordPerfect Office X7 Home & Student! (Review)

**Disclaimer:  This post has been compensated through a free product (s) or monetary payment.  Opinions are solely mine. All links are "no-follow" links.**

Corel WordPerfect Office X7 Home & Student.jpeg
Corel WordPerfect Office X7 Home & Student

I received a copy of Corel’s WordPerfect Office X7 Home & Student and I am home again in my favorite office suite! Their software is every bit as robust as Microsoft’s, but Corel’s office suite is much easier to use and far less expensive.

This edition includes WordPerfect (a word processor), Quattro Pro (spreadsheet), Presentations (a slide show creator), WordPerfect Lightning (a digital notebook).  These are really the things most people need in an office suite. However, different editions of this office suite with more programs are also available to suit your needs.

If you or the intended user of the software is new to office suites, WordPerfect Office X7 is the way to go because the company kept navigation simple.  It’s so nice having a bar at the top again with File, Edit, View, and so on!  Microsoft took that away and replaced it with tabs that you have to hopefully remember, where did I see that?

This is what the screen looks like when beginning a new document.  With this setup, you can start typing and be the creative person you need to be.

In the case of features you use occasionally, WordPerfect won’t be wasting your time making you hunt for them.  Corel provided the Find Feature, under Help allowing you to enter even just part of a feature you’re looking for and it takes you directly to it. For some strange reason, Microsoft Word in Office 2010 removed their help section for quick assistance. Instead, Microsoft redirects you to the web, which slows your productivity.

Here is what the Find Feature screen looks like.
I have been using Office Suites for years.  The 900-pound gorilla is, of course, Microsoft Office, which I and many of you have.  MS Office 2010 is actually installed on my computer. But I don’t use it that much at all.

This is a screenshot of MS Office 2010 for you to compare the two.
A few years ago with MS Office 2003's replacement, MS Office 2007 the interface changed. It changed a lot too.  It was as if they were trying to become more MAC like to just dazzle us with icons.  Do I really need an icon of binoculars to let me know that is how I find something or scissors for cutting things?  All these icons take up enough space that you can get lost fast.

Now the program I use and have used constantly for over a decade is WordPerfect.  The ribbon bar at the top of the screen is simple and clean.  It’s easy as pie to find what you need.  No scrolling through tabs to find basic features such as where is the spell checker. Under MS Office 2010,  it’s under the Review Tab.  In WordPerfect, all you need is to click on Tools where all your “tools” are listed nicely.  By the way, the Spell Checker is also an icon on the WordPerfect toolbar.

As to the Grammar checker, MS Word doesn’t cut it.  You may be using MS Word thinking that their checker gave you flying colors but I found it was a false sense of security. WordPerfect Office X7 comes bundled with Grammatik, which is phenomenal!

I actually purchased Grammatik as a stand-alone product on my first PC years before Corel acquired the program and included it with editions of WordPerfect.  This grammar checker catches a lot of mistakes that you can overlook just as MS Word so often neglects to find.

Check out Grammatik.

If you find yourself lost in MS Office you have to try WordPerfect Office X7 Home & Student!

Recipe: My Easy Taco Seasoning Mix Will Save You Time and Money

If you love tacos, then you will like my convenient recipe to make your own taco mix.   You’ll find the flavor just as zesty and delicious when you make tacos with this blend. However, you’ll time, money, and the need to order your tacos out.

For those watching their salt intake, you may notice that I skipped the salt.  Instead, the seasonings do enough to beautifully bring out the flavor.  Nonetheless, do feel free to add salt if you miss it.  Seriously though, I do not think that you will once you taste this.

I do hope that you will try my recipe one day!

My Easy Taco Seasoning Mix

½ cup instant minced onion
2 tablespoons of chili powder
3 tablespoons of dried oregano
1 teaspoon of dried cumin powder
3 tablespoons of cornstarch
2 tablespoons of dried basil leaves
2 tablespoons of crushed red pepper flakes
2 tablespoons of garlic powder

Mix the ingredients together and store in an airtight container.
All you do when you prepare your normal recipe is to take 1-1/2 tablespoons of this mix for each pound of ground turkey or ground beef to flavor it just so.

Aveda Smooth Infusion Naturally Straight Review

Aveda Smooth Infusion Naturally Straight
Aveda Smooth Infusion Naturally Straight

I was invited by SheSpeaks to review Aveda’s Smooth Infusion Naturally Straight.  Since I do have natural curls and waves in my hair, I thought this hair product might be interesting to try for taming the frizz that comes with it.

I found this product had a pleasant, light citrus scent.  Once applied to my towel-dried hair that I sectioned off, I am happy to report it did a wonderful job of smoothing.

Aveda Smooth Infusion Naturally StraighAveda Smooth Infusion Naturally Straight retails for $26.  If you have frizzy, unruly hair, I suggest that you look into trying this product for yourself.

Josie Maran Cosmetics Coconut Watercolor Cheek Gelees Trio Review + ($66) Giveaway!--Ends October 10, 2014

Disclaimer: This post is based on a free product provided by a company as a press sample so that I may offer my own opinion, which may be the same or differ from yours.

An incredibly natural way to blush is with Josie Maran’s Coconut Watercolor Cheek Gelees.  Their natural sheer glow helps get you effortlessly gorgeous in a formula that really holds up for hours.  I was fortunate to be sent three for this review and giveaway.

Berry Bliss Gelee.jpeg
Take a look at Berry Bliss.
There are a six shades in this line.  Berry Bliss is an ideal Fall color of a sheer wine. Coconut Oasis is a tangerine orange color that was my least favorite of the three with the yellow tones in my skin. On the other hand, Getaway Red delivers a red wash of color that also suited my fair to light warm complexion very well.

Coconut Oasis Gelee.jpeg
Here is Coconut Oasis.

What surprised me was the feel when I first put a finger in it. This gelee looks like it would have a looser, wiggly type of consistency and smell of coconuts. Instead, it is rather firm and void of scent.  But, this gelee was still easy to apply and blend.  A little of the product was all that was necessary to awaken my cheeks like the blush came from me and not a jar.

Getaway Red Gelee.jpeg
This one is Getaway Red.
Though this product adequately moisturized and felt lightweight on my dry skin, I had expected more intensive hydration from its formula featuring 50% coconut water to 100% argan oil.  Still, I cannot complain especially when considering how long this blush wears.  In fact, this product can adhere to your skin so well that you might need to work a little harder to take this gelee off!

Have you tried these Josie Maran Coconut Watercolor Cheek Gelees ($22) yet?  If not, I do recommend look into picking one or few up because you will like them.

Review: Memebox Special #26 Hand & Nail Care—September 2014 Deals!

**Disclaimer:  This post has been compensated through a free product (s) or monetary payment.  Opinions are solely mine. All links are "no-follow" links.**

Memebox Special #26 Hand & Nail Care.jpeg
Memebox Special #26 Hand & Nail Care

Hands can give away your age—that is, if you let them.  Look at all we put them through every day doing dishes, laundry, cleaning, and cooking to name just a few routine chores that can turn once soft hands with lovely nails into ones that you would rather hide from the world.  Help is here though with the Memebox Special #26 Hand & Nail Care assortment that I was sent.

I wish that I could tell that you can still buy this particular Memebox, but it is another sold out box.  When it was still available this box sold for $23 plus $6.99 shipping.  Here is what you missed.

Memebox Special #26 Hand & Nail Care Box

1.    PURE SKIN Hand Care PackFull Size (15g)--$4.00

2.    SUR 3D Nail Art Kit (3D & Magnet emerald 12ml & Nail Art Pen Silver 7ml)—Full Size--$29.00

3.    PURE PLUS Hydrogel Moisturizing Nail PatchFull Size (2/5g)--$8.00

4.    With shan Dr. Care Set (Dr. 01 15ml & Paper File 1 ea.)—Full Size--$13.00

5.    BARBINIE Shea Butter Hand CreamFull Size (50ml)--$18.00

6.    SHARA SHARA Soft Hand GommageFull Size (50ml)--$6.00

7.    With shan Baby Hand Set (Treat Oil 15ml & Nail Wall File 1ea)—Full Size--$9.00

Total Value:  $87.00!

The most interesting product was the Shara Shara Soft Hand Gommage.  This is a gel that you rub over your hands to get rid of rough skin. Once applied, it balls up and gently peels away skin. My hands were softer as a result.

The Pure skin Hand Care Pack was one of my favorites of the products that I sampled.  This product is a pair of gloves loaded with rich moisturizers and anti-aging ingredients that can help banish dryness and roughness.

The Barbinie Shea Butter Hand Cream was in Violet Musk.  This provided heavy duty lubrication in a lovely floral scent.

Something else I loved was the Pure Plus Hydrogel Moisturizing Nail Patch for strengthening and improving the look of nails.  I just placed this flexible hydrogel patch over a nail and waited twenty minutes for it to work its magic.

Another helpful product for serious nail strengthening was the with shan Dr. Care Set.  The Dr. 001 is what you paint your nails with every two days to build them up. Once you finish a week, you remove it and repeat the process.  A Paper File was also included to perfect those stronger nails.

The Sure 3D Nail Art Kit is something that I did not experiment with yet.  I got a forest green shade of nail polish and a Black Diamond Nail Art pen to be artistic with.  This will be my first attempt at designing my own nail look, but it looks like fun.

The with shan Baby Hand Set is another product that I didn’t get a chance to try yet, but I soon will.  This set consists of a Treatment Oil for working on cuticles.  It also comes with a Nail Wall File to smooth and perfect.

I really discovered some unique hand and nail products in this collection that really surprised me.  After this experience, I have been browsing the Memebox Shop for more of their hand and nail products for how wonderfully they worked.  Do yourself a favor and check into their hand and nail products such as Kocostar, a favorite of mine, as well because I think you will be impressed.

Kleem Organics Jeunesse Vitamin C Serum Review

Disclaimer: This is a sponsored post for Kleem Organics.

Kleem Organics

Finding great anti-aging products that work for YOU can often be a hit or miss situation as we all know.  However, I am so excited because I discovered another winner with Kleem Organics Jeunesse Vitamin C Serum for what it did for me on all fronts.

Kleem Organics Jeunesse Vitamin C Serum.jpeg
Kleem Organics Jeunesse Vitamin C Serum

This serum has 20% of potent natural vitamin C for intensive complexion repair from its ability to promote collagen.  Yet, this is only part of this amazing rejuvenating formula that utilizes plant-based hyaluronic acid, arginine, aloe vera, vitamin E, and a host of organic ingredients that can help encourage the rebirth of your skin.

You may think that I am exaggerating, but I do love this lightweight serum for the beautiful reawakening of my complexion, but also for so many different reasons.  It is wonderful for sensitive skin, feels soothing once applied, has a sanitary pump to dispense it, and leaves your complexion adequately moisturized without being overly sticky or greasy.

Though I have been using it only for about two weeks, I saw my complexion change fairly rapidly in tone, texture, and firmness almost before my eyes.  Now I am watching a small spot diminish in color and size that I have been trying to get rid after a harsh experience with a fruit peel.

Keeping my skin this gorgeous won’t destroy my budget either because this stuff costs only $19.99!  Check out Kleem Organics Jeunesse Vitamin C Serum because you’re going to love it.

Recipe: My Homemade Cracker Jacks Recipe Is the Perfect Halloween Snack!

Here’s a Fall favorite of ours for those that loved the taste of that childhood favorite, Cracker Jacks.  My homemade version tastes just as delicious with salted peanuts against honey sweetened popcorn that you will find it hard to tell the two apart.

I do hope you decide to make my recipe sometime because I think you honestly will be glad you did!

My Homemade Cracker Jacks

¼ cup of honey
¼ cup of margarine (not spread) or butter
1-1/2 quarts of popped popcorn
¾ cup of shelled peanuts
2 tablespoons of light corn or dark corn syrup

Melt the honey and butter or margarine in a small saucepan.

Remove from the heat and corn syrup.

Place the popped corn and peanuts in a large mixing bowl and combine.

Pour the honey mixture over the popcorn-peanut mix to coat thoroughly.

Spread the coated popcorn mix in a single layer on a cookie sheet.  (You will need several cookie sheets or baking pans since this produces several batches).

Bake in a 350-degree oven for about 10-15 minutes until crisp, depending on how your oven is regulated.

Cool and later store in an airtight container.

ENJOY!

Review: New Keurig 2.0 K550 Brewing System—Influenster VoxBox #HelloKeurig

Keurig 2.0 K550 Brewing System in box.jpeg
Keurig 2.0 K550 Brewing System in box

I was one of the lucky people chosen by Influenster to try out the new Keurig 2.0 K550 Brewing System.  I had not realized what I had been missing until this amazing little machine arrived to replace my Mr. Coffee Coffee Maker. Now this coffee lover is spoiled and will never go back to brewing coffee without my Keurig!

The reason I have fallen so totally and passionately in love with this machine is because it can brew one specific K-Cup at a time or a larger carafe that makes fours cups of what I consider perfect coffee. No more waiting until an entire pot of French Roast or Hazelnut brewed any longer for me.  The Keurig makes pleasing everyone in the family easy instead of deciding what flavor of coffee that we will drink next.

Keurig 2.0 K550 Brewing System in use.jpeg
Keurig 2.0 K550 Brewing System in use
Brewing coffee is so simple, not to mention convenient, as well when you need to get out of the house in a hurry to work.  Once I loaded it and pressed, my coffee was ready practically in a flash without making hardly any noise as it brewed.

Being a new Keurig convert, I can’t compare this new model against an older version.  However, I can tell you this model features an extra-large 80 ounce water reservoir, 2.8 inch color touch display, programmable clock and controls, an auto brew option and a strength control setting for brewing bolder coffee.  Another delightful find is discovering this model has as customizable night light in the water reservoir and offers hot water on demand and a separate setting when the craving for hot cocoa or something just as delicious like a latte comes over you.

another view of Keurig 2.0 K550 Brewing System.jpeg
Another view of the Keurig 2.0 K550 Brewing System
I also found my new Keurig 2.0 K550 Model came equipped with two boxes--six K-Cups and four K-Carafe packs to get me started.

I have been having so much fun playing with this machine and all it can do.  For someone truly addicted to coffee, I honestly can’t think of a better way to brew than with the Keurig 2.0 K550 Brewing System for all the variety, convenience, and ease it brings into your daily life.  I highly recommend looking into getting one for yourself, family, or friends because the holiday season will be here and this would make an awesome gift, especially for an older relative living alone!

How to Choose the Most Flattering Nail Colors Meant for YOU!

With all the dazzling shades of nail polishes at our disposal, it can be quite difficult to always pick out the perfect shades of nail polishes to best suit our skin tones.  However, here is a suggestion to keep in mind before making your next selection.

Fair skin ladies should check out colors of polish that have blue undertones.  Look for shades such as cool berry reds or bluish pinks to maximize your beauty.

If you happen to have olive skin, you want colors with warm undertones.  Shades such as corals with some yellow in the mix, yellow-based pinks or sheers that are on the white-pink side will compliment you the best.

Dark-skinned ladies can steal the show when your hands flash with vibrant pinks, dark purples, warm browns and creamy beige tones.

Take my advice, these colors will look and make you feel prettier than ever!

Review: Blush Mystery Beauty Box September 2014

**Disclaimer:  This post has been compensated through a free product (s) or monetary payment.  Opinions are solely mine. All links are "no-follow" links.**

Blush Mystery Beauty Box September 2014.jpeg
Blush Mystery Beauty Box September 2014

Finding just the perfect beauty products is not as simple as some people think with all the brands available.  What I appreciate about Blush Mystery Beauty Box is that this company and their panel of experts helps you stay on top of the latest beauty trends and products to make it simpler.

Every box is worth at least a $100 value, but it is usually more.  The beauty items are ones we either have longed to try or, perhaps, have not known about until discovering it in an assortment.  If you ask me, what better way to shop for cosmetics, skin and hair care, etc. than with a subscription for $24.95 a month or $34.95 for a one-time purchase?

Let me show you my September 2014 box and you can judge yourself.

Blush Mystery Beauty Box (September 2014):

     1.    Vapour Organic Beauty Solar Translucent Bronzer (Simmer 222) Full Size- -$36.00

2.    Klorane Extra-Gentle Dry Shampoo With Oat Milk (Sample Size 50ml)— $6.50

3.    Lumene Sensitive Touch Cleansing Wipes (10 Count)— $3.00

4.    ColorWow One-Minute Transformation—Full Size--$24.00

5.    SkinCeuticals Advanced Pigment Corrector (sample of unstated size)—5ml? --$15.00 but probably more

6.    Juice Beauty Reflecting Lip Gloss (Organic Pink)—Full Size--$15.00

Total Value--$99.50 +

The Vapour Organic Beauty Bronzer was welcome to find.  I liked how it helped me transition from summer with enough healthy color without being too brown.

The Klorane Dry Shampoo was just the right size when packing for your vacation or to the hospital.   This is not the first time I used this product.  When normal shampooing is out of the question, this is the next best thing.

The Lumene Cleansing Wipes are another handy product that I thought dissolved makeup without much effort.  The only thing I didn’t care for was the package had an expiration date of 10/2014.

ColorWow One-Minute Transformation sounds like my kind of hair styling fix to transform thick, dry hair.  This product is one that I haven’t played with yet, but soon intend to.

As to the SkinCeuticals Corrector, this is another new product waiting on my vanity.  I will have to hold off trying this product until after finishing a current skin care product review.

Finally, there was the Juice Beauty Reflecting Lip Gloss.  This was my first time using this company’s lip gloss, but not the last.  The product was not sticky in the least and the plum color was gorgeous in Organic Pink.

I thought September 2014 provided an excellent month of beauty products.  If you haven’t experienced Blush Mystery Beauty Box, I think you should look into a subscription because it is a fun way to shop!
